QUIET MOMENTS & Daily Painting

QUIET MOMENTS
Watercolor - 11x14

Daily Painting has been a huge trend in recent years but I recently heard an artist say that she has backed away from it. She realized that she was missing out on an important part of the Creative Journey - processing!

When she stopped painting each day and reduced it to 3 or 4 days a week, she felt that she finally had time to think about what she had and had not achieved with her recent works. She found that there is a build up of motivation and inspiration   if you wait and think before releasing an idea on to paper or canvas. The resulting painting is often better.

She didn't feel as rushed to finish a painting every day. She could linger, feel and enjoy each brush stroke. Take time to step back and analyze before continuing to the next step. Enjoy the artistic journey instead of feeling rushed.

Maybe the answer is to find the right combination of daily and weekly painting for yourself!
