BEACH DUNES

Beach Dunes is another one of my 'Big Sky' paintings. The sky makes up the majority of the composition with big fluffy clouds. I painted the sky using several shades of blue - ultra marine, manganese and a little pthalo blue - and then used a paper towel to lift back some white areas. When it was dry I came back in to add some shadows and definition.
Last month we visited our kids in Charleston, SC where our oldest daughter Laura - on the right - and her husband Eric live. Our middle daughter Lisa - on the left - and out son Scott were also able to be there for the week. We spent several fun days at the beach enjoying the sun, sand and surf!
