OLD BARN - SOLD
This painting was just released in my Fine Art Newsletter earlier this week and it sold immediately to Janet from Colorado - how fun! I love to paint old barns and in this painting I used some dry brush for the weathered wood, I spattered in the foreground to suggest grass and used negative painting to pull out the fence and the smaller building to the right of the barn. With watercolor it is important to leave white paper in the initial stages of painting so I randomly applied color in the foreground and let it drip down to create a vignette - a technique where you leave areas of the painting out of focus or unfinshed.
