I was recently contacted by someone who lives in Newport News, VA to paint a large watercolor of sailboats. She had seen one similar in my Etsy Shop but it had already sold so I was more than happy to paint this one for her.
Commission pieces are a wonderful way to make a creative connection but can be a challenge because you are not always sure that your creative vision matches the clients. Because I had a photo of the original sailboat watercolor that she liked it made it easier to recreate the semi abstract look and feel of sailboats gliding across the water.
