FLOWER DREAM
Watercolor on rice paper - 10x15
I painted Flower Dream on a type of rice paper called Massa to create a batik like effect. The paper is crumpled up, placed in water and then spread out and glued to 140 lb watercolor paper. While the rice paper is still wet, I began painting in the basic shapes for the flowers, leaves and background, letting the color move and flow. As things started to dry I used negative painting to further define the flower petals and leaves.
