Do you have a UFO pile? UnFinished Objects of art? I think we all do. After all the most exciting part of any art project is starting. Your ideas are fresh, you feel creative, you are in the zone. Then there is always that point where everything starts to look ugly and you have to make yourself keep painting, push through the problems and finish the composition. Not as much fun, so it is easy to leave that UFO and start something else new and exciting.
But, if you can discipline yourself to come back to those paintings later with a fresh eye and new insight I promise it will be a wonderful learning experience. You will learn how to correct your mistakes, solve the value, color, shape, composition problems and may end up with a new and exciting piece of art. Even if you don't end up liking your final piece you have gained valuable creative knowledge to apply to the next painting.
