SUNFLOWER BARN
Watercolor collage - 11x14
It is great fun to combine some collage with watercolor painting. I like to use tissue paper that I have hand painted along with store bought tissue paper with different designs on them.
I began Sunflower Barn using watercolor on wet 140 lb paper, painting the sky and some of the flowers in the foreground. I then tore different petal shapes and glued them around the brown centers, adding paint to further define the flowers. Green patterned paper was used for the stems and leaves and I painted the barn in the background to create a sense of depth in the composition.
