IRIS PROMISES
Watercolor on tissue - 11x15
Before I began this painting of irises I glued wrinkled tissue paper on to 140 lb watercolor paper, using a brayer to flatten the tissue and create a wonderful texture.
I spritzed the tissue with water and used bright, bold color to begin painting the flowers, letting the watercolor move and flow freely.
You can see in these detail photos that the paint settles in to the wrinkled tissue paper to create wonderful texture and a loose, free painting.
