CRASHING SURF

I had a lot of fun with texture in this ocean painting of waves crashing against rocks. I first painted the over all background colors of ultramarine blue, turquoise, purple and some yellow ochre on wet paper and immediately placed plastic wrap on top.
When everything dried, I removed the plastic that created the wonderful texture shown above.
I then painted the rocks, waves and a few seagulls while trying to leave most of the texture in plain sight.
