GARDEN BOUQUET
Watercolor on gesso 11x15
It is Day 5 of my Week of Watercolor Flowers and I decided to show a watercolor that was painted on gessoed paper. Regular 140 lb watercolor paper will absorb the paint but if it has been coated with white gesso - an acrylic base paint normally used to prime canvases for oil painting - the paint will sit on the surface allowing whites to be lifted and encouraging a more painterly style!
