SUNSHINE ROSES

Yellow roses are the star for Day 3 of my Week of Watercolor Flowers. Roses are such a perfect flower that they can be very intimidating to paint so I try to start out a little loose and then use a lot of negative painting to shape and shade the petals. When we lived in Denver we had beautiful rose bushes that came with the house and I was always amazed that such lovely flowers could grow in such a dry climate.
