COUNTRY GRAPES

Fruit was the subject for my ongoing watercolor classes last week and grapes are always fun to paint. I began by painting wet on wet and have learned that the more I can vary the colors and suggest the shapes of the grapes at this stage, the easier the detail painting will be. I used some negative painting to add shadows to the grape clusters and define the leaves. Makes me think a glass of wine would be nice about now!
