TROPICAL HIBISCUS
Watercolor Batik 16x16
I love painting tropical flowers with their beautiful bold colors. This is a watercolor batik, painted on textured rice paper where I use melted wax as a resist, just like the age old batik technique on fabric. Then, I painted with watercolors, waxed, painted and waxed again until it was time to iron it all off. The final piece is always a wonderful surprise with this creative process!
