SUNSHINE ROSES

Roses are such a perfect flower that they can be intimidating to paint but every so often I get the urge to tackle them. I began with wet paper and washed in yellow areas for the flowers and background colors for leaves. When all was dry I added shading to the rose petals for definition and used negative painting to pull leaf shapes out of the background.
