This is another of my smaller paintings where I could be very loose and free in my approach to a traditional subject of flowers in a vase. Nothing says love like a gift of flowers!
Speaking of love, here is Ginger, our 11 year old Golden posing next to the butterfly bush that we planted in honor of my Dad. She is a sweet dog but did not really want to stay still for a picture that day, ended up humoring me. I am so happy that the bush is still blooming in our dry climate - I love being able to look out at it and remember my wonderful father.
