Great fun to paint this elephant. I used warm colors - yellow ochre and burnt sienna for the overall painting and then added some purple for the shadows. I love to paint with purple, it is a nice dark, a pretty color and since it is the complement of yellow it works well with these earth tones. I also used some salt to add to the illusion of dust being kicked up by the elephant.
