For this painting I started with wet paper and used light pastel colors everywhere, keeping in mind the basic placement of the flowers and vase. When everything was dry I used positive and negative painting to refine the shapes of the flower petals, leaves and vase. I added a suggestion of reflections on the pitcher. Then I finished by having fun in the background painting stripes and using a checkered stamp to suggest some kind of design or maybe wallpaper?
