Learn to Play!

SPRING TREASURES
Watercolor - 11x15

I think as artists we need to give ourselves permission to take the time to create. To try new things, experiment with technique and color and design. Sometimes we just need to play. To move away from the reference photo, forget trying to be literal with our shapes and colors. Let the act of painting lead us in new directions. Think outside of the box, relax, explore and above all have fun!

This was my 'start' for Spring Treasures. Pure, fun colors applied freely to wet paper. After the paint was dry I could come back in and define the flowers and vase. My favorite way to paint!
