I always enjoy spending time painting in my studio but it is especially fun when one of my collectors commissions a particular piece. Sherry, from beautiful Myrtle Beach, SC wanted a watercolor batik featuring colorful tropical fish, similar to one that I had sold several years ago. Since I was getting out the rice paper and melted wax for one painting I decided to do several variations and let her choose the one she liked the best.
I had a blast using fun, bright colors on the fish, spattering wax and crumpling the rice paper to create the batik look. You can see these tropical fish paintings along with all of my other watercolor batiks in my Etsy Shop. Thanks Sherry!
