BOUQUET OF COLOR and the Art of Listening

Watercolor - 11x15

'Sometimes people just need someone to listen.
No advice. No words. Just a shoulder, an ear.'

I recently read that meaningless small talk may be easy but it won't necessarily lead you to a happier life. Being a good listener gives you a greater sense of well-being, stronger relationships, and all-around better experiences in life. I find that instead of just listening, I often want to give advice and try to solve the problem, especially with our kids. I need to work harder at the art of listening - lending an ear and a shoulder. But as most of you know, that is not always an easy thing to do!
