I was recently commissioned to do a painting for a wonderful southern woman. I was givien a picture of her wallpaper for an idea of colors and told that she wanted birds - the rest was up to me. The colors were rose and green so I decided you could not get more genteel than cherry blossoms.
It is always a challenge to do a commission piece - I always worry that it will not be what they had in mind. Luckily Betty was thrilled with the end result and has it hanging in a place of honor in the sunroom of her South Carolina home.
