NATURE'S GOLD

I don't often paint birds so I challenged myself to give them a try. I chose to paint two cute little chickadees sitting among the fall leaves. After sketching them on to the watercolor paper I just took a section at a time - the head, body, wings - and applied loose flowing colors. After that dried, I added the darks and suggestion of feathers, remembering that round objects are lighter in the center and shaded around the edges.
