When in doubt, add some purple! I love to paint with purple. It is such a pretty color and you can go very light or very dark with it.
Purples can unify a painting, especially when grayed down a little
Purples connect intense colors together and allow them to pop
Purples are great for painting distant trees and mountains and add depth to a landscape
Purples can lean more towards blue or more towards red and they are just fun to paint with
