SPRING JEWELS & Good Enough

SPRING JEWELS
Watercolor - 11x14

Last week I taught a workshop where I reiterated to the students that they MUST use good, high quality watercolor paper to have any measure of success. We often tell ourselves when we first start painting that when we are 'good enough' we will invest in better paper, but really the opposite is true.

Good paper will make you 'good enough'. Painting on bad paper is like trying ti cut with dull scissors. It is very hard to do. using good supplies will reduce your struggles and make painting and learning much more enjoyable. So if you haven't already, treat yourself to some good quality 140lb cold press Arches watercolor paper. And you will soon be Good Enough!
