CABIN FLOWERS

Watercolor paper is designed to let the moisture of the paint soak into the paper to create soft or hard edges. Oil pastels can be used to act as a resist so that the paint will not soak into the paper. For Cabin Flowers I used different shades of oil pastel for the flowers and leaves in the foreground, the evergreens in the background and for extra color on the cabin. I also collaged on some tissue for a true mixed media painting.
