I really LOVE teaching watercolor and have been doing it for over 20 years now. My goal for any class or group of students is to individualize my instruction as much as possible. I try to introduce the basics to the beginning student and also work with the more advanced student to develop their own personal artistic style while mastering the principles of design and composition.
It is also very important to me to provide a lot of encouragement and positive feed back to each student. As artists, we are all very good at pointing out what is wrong with our paintings so I try to also show all the areas that are successful.
I always hope that at the end of the class or workshop that every artist leaves with a feeling of enjoyment and accomplishment. After all, art should feed your soul and bring joy to your life!
