FLOWERS & LACE
Watercolor - 15x22
This was such a fun watercolor to paint. It began as a demo for one of my classes where we were painting flowers in a loose way. As with most of my demos I did not have time to complete it so when I later pulled it out to work on it there was a lot of white paper left to fill.
I decided to throw caution to the wind and pulled out some of my stamps and a few lace dollies and went to town. You can see where I stamped some hearts and fern leaves and then used the dollies as stencils to suggest lace peeking in and our of the flowers. Sometimes when we take a creative risk it is well worth it!
