Did anyone watch the Superbowl last night? We got together with friends and had a great time although I have to admit that I don't always pay attention to the actual game. Much more fun to eat, drink wine and watch the commercials.
How do you know if your painting is finished? Here are some tips to view it with a fresh eye.
- Place your painting on an easel and stand back to view it at a distance
- Turn it upside down to reveal any compositional shortcomings
- Put a mat around it to visually isolate the painting
- Assess your values through a piece of red acetate to reveal patterns of lights and darks
- Bring it to a critique group or ask a trusted friend
