APPLE DELIGHT

I love everything about fall and have fond memories of taking the kids to pick apples in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. When our son, Scott, was in college in Vermont we also enjoyed the wonderful apple cider donuts in the mountains of that beautiful state whenever we visited him.
I began this painting by finding some photos of apples and sketching a group of them on to the 140 lb watercolor paper. I wanted the composition to focus on the apples and leaves with a soft blue background.
I am midway through the painting at this point with the apples and leaves painted and only need to come back and add the darks and shadows.
