Creative Monday Challenge - Week 36 - Autumn Art

FALLING LEAVES
Watercolor - 11x15

Thursday will be the official First Day of Autumn so I thought it would be fun to use that as our theme for this week's Creative Monday Challenge! It has been a tradition in my weekly classes each fall to go outside and pick up real leaves to use in our paintings. If you coat the back of each leaf with thick watercolor paint you can stamp them on to the paper and use these shapes and textures as a starting point for your painting. Warm colors and negative painting will help create a strong design and an interesting composition for your autumn art.

Pumpkins, scarecrows, apples, hayrides, bonfires, football, cider  - what do you love about fall?
