BEACH FLOWERS
Watercolor & Oil Pastel - 8x10
I loved hearing from those of you that enjoyed the Painting Checklist printable last week and appreciated the thank you. I had fun putting it together and was glad to see it used on your weekly paintings.
This week's Creative Monday Challenge is to use some kind of a resist in your painting. It can be oil pastels, crayons, paraffin - anything that will repel the watercolor paint. Oil pastels are a great way to get white and light colors saved in areas where you will paint darker color on top. For Beach Flowers I used the oil pastels in the foreground for the flowers, for the white caps in the water and the seagulls in the sky. You can buy a large set of oil pastels pretty inexpensively at Hobby Lobby or Michaels and don't forget to use a coupon. Happy painting!
If you are new to Creative Monday I would love to have you join us. You can read more about it and get info on joining the free Facebook Group here.
