I so admire people who garden and have a green thumb because I don't. I remember as a child telling my parents that I wanted to plant a garden. My dad, who always supported my creative ideas, told me I could use a small part of the backyard and to start digging. I got the small shovel and some gardening gloves and started digging away. All was fine until I saw my first worm. I quickly decided that working with dirt was not going to be for me:)
How smart of my dad to let me figure it out for myself, instead of just saying no.
