CALLA LILY DREAMS

One of the great things about watercolor painting is that you can easily combine it with other media. For Calla Lily Dreams I began by painting on wet paper and letting the colors run and mix, being careful to leave some white areas for the flowers. I think collaged on very thin pieces of rice paper to add dark textured areas around the flowers. When all was dry I used negative painting to define shapes and added more rice paper with musical notes stamped on. Every once and it while it is nice to shake things up creatively!
