Fine Lines with Masking Fluid and COLORFUL BOUQUET I

COLORFUL BOUQUET I
Watercolor - 8x10

I have a love/hate relationship with masking fluid. It is great for protecting the white paper as you paint over areas with watercolor but it often hard to get really fine, definitive lines while applying the frisket. I decided to experiment with using a syringe and a larger needle to apply the masking and to also work on a series of colorful floral paintings all at once. I have to say that I am happy with the results - the syringe did a great job creating fine, expressive line work and I like the bright, bold colors in this first of my three watercolors.
