ROSE IN BLOOM
Yesterday I began teaching my four week class on Watercolor Flowers at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center. For this first lesson, we focused on painting roses using thin glazes of color to build up value and form in the petals. The key to this method, is to take it slow and easy, letting each layer of watercolor dry thoroughly before painting the next one. A great group of students who braved minus 10 degree weather to attend class - let's hope for a nice warm day next week!
