SANTA FE ADOBE and Coffee

SANTA FE ADOBE
Watercolor 11x15

One of the things I love the most about painting in watercolor are all of the fun techniques that can be used to create texture, or at least the look of texture. Plastic wrap, salt, sponging, stamping, scraping and coffee - yes, coffee! I sprinkled instant coffee granules on the wet paint to create the look of old, aging adobe and it worked like a charm.
