SUMMER MEDLEY
Watercolor & Oil Pastel 11x15
I combined oil pastel with watercolor in Summer Medley for a mixed media painting. You can see in the detail photo below that the pastel resists the watercolor paint and adds a fun, textured look to the artwork. I began with the oil pastels, drawing in some of the flowers, then added watercolor in a loose wet on wet manner, more pastel to strengthen the colors and then finished up by painting in some darks around the flowers.
