Art Program for Alzheimer's
Memories in the Making is an art program sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association for people with dementia.
As the dementia takes away some of the ability to communicate verbally, art offers a visual way to communicate and tap into lifelong memories.
Groups at care communitues meet once a week to paint with wateroclors, share memories and connect with others.
As the Art Consultant and Coordinator of the Memories in the Making Program for Colorado Springs, CO I have the privledge of visiting the different sites around town and meeting with the artists to see their wonderful art, hear their stories and see the beautiful smiles that light up their faces!
