Commission Painting - Oklahoma Barn

Watercolor 11x15
One of my favorite art collector's commissioned this painting of her wonderful barn on their farm in Oklahoma. I always feel honored when asked to paint something so important in people's lives.
It is always a challenge to paint a big area of greenery. As you can see in this close up of the trees, I used a variety of shades of green from kelly to oilve and used a sponge to create texture for the leaves.

  1. Martha - love your greens and the sponging affect. This painting really stands out. I love barns being from a farm myself- they just speak of a time from the past. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Martha I love your barn and trees its so cool how you can see through the barn its just simply beautiful....Carol R
