I began this painting by masking out the three seagulls to preserve the white paper. Then, I painted wet on wet applying some pink and light blue in the sky and carrying shades of blue with a little purple into the water area. I painted a few of the rocks and then spattered paint to suggest waves and ocean spray. When everything was dried I added definition to the rocks, removed the masking and detailed the seagulls. This was one of those free and easy paintings that actually worked out the way I wanted!
