I always tell my students to never throw away any of their paintings. If you don't like what you did, paint on the other side, if you don't like that, you can apply a couple coats of white gesso over it and have a whole new surface to paint on. The gesso gives you a slick surface to paint on causing the watercolor to sit on top, creating interesting runs, shapes and textures. You can also lift the paint off at any time to create highlights, change a shape and regain your whites.

I am now a member of Daily Painters of Colorado and will be posting on their site.

Kindness #16 - I just found out that the neighbor up the street from my Mom, on her walk every morning, always brings the newspapers from the curb up to my Mom's porch. She said when her dad passed away, someone did it for her mom - what a sweet thing to do and a great way to 'pay it forward'.
