SPRING FANCY - Watercolor on Rice Paper

In one of the weekly classes I teach we painted on Masa rice paper. First you wad up the piece of masa paper, then place it in water for a few minutes, smooth it out and glue it to 140# watercolor paper using a brayer to smooth it out. Then start painting while it is wet and watch the paint run into the crinkled crevices. When it is dry you can paint some more, adding darks where needed. This is a fun technique to try and creates a batik-like painting.
