TOUCH OF SPRING and Blue Paper Towels

TOUCH OF SPRING
Watercolor 11x15

I began this painting as a class demo where we applied paint to wet paper in bands of color and then came back in with negative painting to define the flowers and leaves - a great way to loosen up!

One of the tips I give my watercolor students is to buy the blue paper towels that are sold in the auto/shop section at Walmart. I am ALWAYS holding a paper towel to wipe my brush on as I paint and these are so strong and durable that they can be used over and over and won't fall apart.
