Creative Monday Challenge #22 - BLUE AND GOLD

Original Watercolor - 11x15
$50 - Buy Here

The Creative Challenge last week was to create visual texture in your painting. Blue and Gold began as  a class demo on non other than texture! I used bubble wrap to stamp dots, netting to paint thru, corrugated cardboard to stamp lines, scraping and spattering. When I got home with the piece I decided to make it into a vase of flowers by painting in some background colors and negative painting around flower shapes. It doesn't really show up in the photo but I even used some gold metallic paint on the flower centers and some of the stems. It is always fun to start out one direction in a painting and change mid stream - you never know what you might come up with!
