SPRING PROFUSION - Watercolor

I painted this sitting outside on a beautiful spring day in Colorado (alot warmer than the weather we have had here the last few days). The flowers were spilling out of a hanging basket and I decided to paint them in a slightly abstract way. I used a cruciform composition to give structure to the painting and then applied paint on wet paper in a loose fashion leaving white areas for some of the flowers. I then painted around the flowers with the greenery and purple shadows.
